Fall Poppers (aka Dollar Store Fun)

This all starts with Hubby being very good about follow through, when I asked him a favor.   I asked that we save toilet paper rolls for a Halloween project - stay toned for that one, I am really excited to surprise Little Man!   Well, we now have enough to do lots of different projects!

I took Little Man to the Dollar Store today to get supplies for his project of making custom decals, for his Lego Clone Wars figures.   Maybe I should post some his projects, they are pretty interesting.  Who knew that Brasso takes the decals off of old Lego figures?!

So, I bought candies and napkins at the Dollar Store - $4
I had the curling ribbon in my stash!

A few candies in the roll

Center it in the napkin

roll it up

tie either end with ribbon

curl the ends of the ribbon

Viola - ready for our neighborhood Phantom to deliver on October 1st!

Oh yeah, those other napkins - I thought I would see how I liked some as part of my Autumn decorations.   I like it!  What do you think?

Potion Bottles for Halloween

Pinterest strikes again!

It was this potion bottles photo, while searching Halloween ideas, that caused this Sunday afternoon project.  Luckily Hubby & Little Man loved the idea too and were excited to help!

First we collected everything we thought would look great in our spooky collection!

Ready to have fun with spray paint

I painted some, then Little Man painted some, then . . .

Hubby decided we weren't doing it right!

He also had to paint the bottoms, which I would have passed on.

This is the twist we loved.
This awesome lady made FREE Harry Potter Potion Bottle labels printables and Little Man loved them!  He had so much fun reading the details, while cutting them out.

The bottles finished drying and waited for their labels

We had trouble with the first couple glues we tried, but this Creative Memories pen did wonders.  Though I have found that, a week later, this mixed with black spray paint doesn't come off skin as easily as one would think.

We made sure to get the edges extra well!

Then just put them randomly on our black jars

Lookin' good!

Little Man's favorite

My favorite

Time to brew a cheese cloth for the display

Aging as we watch

The final spooky display!  We are already getting compliments!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
